LIC announces partnership with Cogent to help reduce carbon footprint

Mark Ryder, GM LIC Europe, announces partnership with Cogent to help reduce the carbon footprint of both companies.

Let me begin by thanking you for continuing to work with LIC. We have all suffered a very difficult couple of years and, as we enter 2022, I sincerely hope that all our fortunes will change for the better, and that you and your family will remain in excellent health.

I want to take this opportunity to update you on some changes we have made and why. In a plan to utilise economies of scale, and reduce our carbon footprint, we are working together with Cogent to develop a distribution programme that ensures our straws are delivered efficiently to farmers across the UK this year.

LIC already has a relationship with ST Genetics, the owners of Cogent, as it is their Ultra 4M technology that is used to sex New Zealand semen, and semen from The Forwards® team in Europe.

They are managing delivery of our straws to streamline our work, and to allow our Farm Solution Managers (FSMs) to concentrate on providing our customers with solutions, the main part of their role.

It makes sense to work together in this way and, while we will both remain completely separate businesses, this co-operation enables us to use economies of scale and save on the number of times our customers are visited.

As always, please feel free to contact me, or any of the LIC Team should you have any questions.

We wish you a successful season and look forward to seeing even more LIC bulls working on British farms.
