Today we are delighted to announce the appointment of Cogent Breeding Ltd as the exclusive distributor for LIC genetics in England, Wales and Scotland. This will come into effect on 31 October 2022.
We are proud to have supplied our world leading pasture-based genetics to farmers throughout Great Britain for decades, and in recent years we have built a strong relationship with Cogent to provide an exceptional experience for our customers.
Together with Cogent, we are excited to provide a complete breeding solution that combines our complementary offering and delivers more value to you through greater efficiencies.
This new arrangement enables us to extend our reach across Great Britain to deliver our premium genetics and herd improvement services, including pasture-based consultancy, together with the added benefits Cogent can provide. Cogent will exclusively distribute our genetics offering in England, Wales and Scotland.
Our arrangement with Cogent is just another step we have taken to ensure we are driving further value for you. In November last year we established a permanent sexing lab at our EU/UK processing facility in New Zealand, enabling an increased supply of sexed semen to meet growing demand. Additionally, this year our Irish-bred LIC bulls took residence at Cogent’s processing facility in the UK to increase our sexed semen offering.
What does this mean for you?
- Under this arrangement, the highly valued LIC in-market sales and Great Britain consultancy team will transfer to Cogent to continue to support customers across Great Britain
- A key point of contact will continue to provide you with solutions and support for enhanced herd improvement.
- Cogent will provide you with a wider genetic and product offering which will complement our existing offering.
- Our LIC Bull Catalogues will continue to be printed twice a year and our bull teams will still be listed on our website.
